We are at Christ Church almost ready to start work on out proposed extension, which will give us proper access toilet facilities and disabled access to the gallery room without taking up any of the space at the back of the church which we need from time to time for big events, such as our remembrance and christingle services, and several concerts during the year. After some considerable time planning and looking at various alternatives, the final plans have been passed by Kirklees planners and organisations such as the Victorian Society and Church Buildings Council. We are awaiting the final go-ahead from the Diocesan Chancellor, but we expect this now to be a formality and should come through any day.
The reason for this post is to point out that our Online Building Appeal will need to switch platforms – we have been using the services of BT’s MyDonate since we launched the appeal several months ago. BT have run this service for charities for some time at no cost to the charities, but they are withdrawing it on June 30th. We will by then have set up a new online system – but this will not be cost-free. If you would like to donate to this appeal, our Building Appeal Fund will benefit the most if you make the donation during June using MyDonate.
There is more detail on the Appeal page (see menu above).
Many thanks to those who have already donated, and many thanks to you in anticipation!
