Chorister wins Dean’s Award

Our Junior Chorister Lydia Robertshaw was successful in the recent examinations for Chorister Awards held by the Wakefield Area of the Royal School of Church Music, and has been awarded the Dean’s Chorister Award. This was presented to her (along with other successful candidates from Wakefield Cathedral, St. Giles’ Pontefract and St. Mary’s North Elmsall) by Dean Jonathan Greener of Wakefield during a well-attended Choirs Festival Service in Wakefield Cathedral, which also celebrated H.M. Queen Elizabeth’s 90th birthday, and was attended by the Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire. Lydia took part in the service as one of the choir members (accompanied by others from Christ Church) making up the eighty-strong choir.
Congratulations, Lydia!
